Challenge

Needed Better Architecture and More Control

The McKnight Foundation came to us in search of an updated website both, in design and in function. They needed a site that would provide clear information about their mission, goals and strategies, while being easily maintainable so they could distribute pertinent news, publications and announcements to their many stakeholders.

Approach

Business Objectives, Targeted to the Max

We began by verifying McKnight’s objectives and business goals… and checked out their analytics to make sure we knew what we were aiming for. From there, we created modernized designs that focused on user experience, audience segmentation and of course, design best practices, all this, while keeping their business objectives in mind.

Result

Updated UX, Increased Functionality

In the end, we created a modernized site that included an improved layout and navigation and was built on our custom content management system: PAVE. This allows the foundation to share timely information with its grantees and provide more opportunity to regularly showcase the impact their grantees have on the real world. We also built a searchable “Grantee Database”, which enables prospective grantees to browse all of the grants McKnight has administered since 2004.
